Should the U.S. Legalize Medical Marijuana?

The use of medical marijuana dates to ancient civilizations, though historians are undecided about whether the first medical use of cannabis was in China, where the plant is indigenous. In the U.S.9 states have legalized marijuana for medical use, but the drug remains illegal at the federal level. “Decriminalization” refers to removing penalties for medical marijuana use, while “legalization” means permitting the drug’s use.
